The best thing your kid can bring to show-and-tell after vacation week is the memory of an amazing trip. But an unforgettable vacation—stacked with Peak Dinners, Black Diamond Entertainment events, and live music—doesn’t have to mean spending a boat-load of money to have a good time. Read on for sage savings advice:
1. Plan ahead
Every fall, Sunday River puts on a sale for the coming season’s lodging packages. All you have to do is book your vacation by October 15 to guarantee the lowest prices of the season. If you missed it this year, mark your calendar for next time!
2. Book a Ski and Stay Package
Our ski and stay packages make planning your vacation easy as can be. Your booking process is a one-stop shop for lodging, lift tickets, and clinics with the Perfect Turn Ski and Snowboard School, so all you have to do is show up.
3. Buy Your Tickets Online
By purchasing your lift tickets online at least two days in advance, you’ll find savings of up to 20 percent versus buying at the ticket counter on the morning of an epic powder day (or any day, for that matter).
4. Snag a Frequent Skier Card
With a Frequent Skier Card, you’ll pay slightly higher than the price of a one day ticket and receive discounted tickets for the entire winter season, plus one free lift ticket. Get $15 off on weekends and holidays (like school vacation weeks) and $25 off midweek.
5. Travel with a Group
Groups of 20 or more can save 15-20 percent on vacations and day trips at Sunday River. Just contact firstname.lastname@example.org, call 800-286-4792, or fill out the handy online form. As a trip leader, you’ll stay for free, so it’s good to be detail-oriented.
6. Take the Bus
A number of New England bus companies run scheduled trips to our slopes. More often than not, your reservation gives you a ride and a lift ticket for about the same price as a retail ticket. And think of all the money you’ll save on gas by leaving your car at home!
7. Load up a Dining Card
Our dining cards help you save on all of that vacation noshing you plan to do. When you book your lodging package, you’ll have the option to purchase $100 worth of Sunday River food and beverage money for just $80 to be used at any on-resort dining location.
8. Flash Your Pass
As always, there are perks that come with being a New England Passholder. Depending on the type of pass you have, you’ll save on learn-to clinics and lift tickets for friends, plus discounts on lodging, dining cards, and up 15 percent off in Sunday River Sports.
