Four Reasons to Ski Mid-Week

First Chairs, Fresh Stripes, First Tracks

If you have ever been lucky enough to earn the crown of first chair, you know exactly what we are talking about. There is nothing more exciting than being the first to ascend to the summit with nothing but untouched snow below.

First tracks is an honor worth the early morning wake up. While first chairs can be hard to come by on the weekends (there are quite a few dedicated early-risers around here), mid-week is another story. Not only do you have an extra hour to sleep-in, but less people usually equates to better chances for the first spot in line.

Whether it’s a powder day or the corduroy is calling, the early bird gets the worm. Luckily mid-week, you don’t always have to be the earliest bird in the bunch. Plenty of times, those stripes are there well into the afternoon.

No Lift Lines

A skier or riders worst enemy… lift lines.

Luckily here at Sunday River we have eight peaks and plenty of lifts to spread people around but sometimes, lines are inevitable.

The best feeling in the world is being able to lap your favorite lift. Whether you are ripping down Risky back to the Spruce Triple or winding down White Heat back to the White Heat Quad, skiing right back onto the lift is what dreams are made of. Get up here mid-week and you will only have to share the chair with friends. As long as you haven’t ditched them on a powder day, that is.

Mid-week Ticket Prices and Lodging Specials

Everyone likes discounts. Saving a buck here and there can add up… especially when the entire family is hitting the slopes.

Mid-week ticket prices and lodging specials are a deal you definitely don’t want to miss out on. To save even more, book your lift tickets online in advance. The earlier you book, the more you save.

No Wait at the Bar

The last but most certainly not the least of our reasons to ski mid-week is après convenience.

After a long day on the slopes, there is nothing better than pulling a seat up to the bar or getting yourself a table at one of our many après hot-spots. The only thing that can get in the way of you and that cold-one is a lack of seats at the bar.

If you are looking to avoid the wait, join us mid-week and that cold, or hot, beverage will be in your hands before you can even unbuckle your boots.
