Best Breakfast – Sunday River Brewery

Located right at the bottom of the access road, Sunday River Brewery is the perfect place to stop for breakfast before hitting the slopes. The word on the street is the skillets are where it’s at. Plus, the donuts are out of this world making the perfect dessert.

Best Cup o’Joe – DiCocoa’s Bakery & Cafe

Stop into Bethel on your way to the mountain to drink a delicious cup of DiCocoa’s Coffee. Get cozy in their little cafe and eat a made-from-scratch baked good while you sip.

Best Sandwich – Good Food Store

Looking to grab something on the go? The Good Food Store is the place to swing through after a full day on the slopes. Conveniently located on Route 2 you can grab a sandwich to go so you can fuel up for the ride home. No matter the sandwich, they will delight.

Best Après-Ski Bar – Matterhorn Ski Bar

There is no better way to end your ski day then some après-ski at the Matterhorn. Drive down the access road for live music, good food, and drinks. Mingle with your fellow ski bums and enjoy the fun après scene all night long.

Best Burger – Butcher Burger

Welcome to the neighborhood! Butcher Burger opened in December for their first season here in Bethel. With mouth watering burgers and more, there is something for everyone on the menu. Nothing beats a hungry belly after a day on the slopes like a burger packed with bacon, so head into Bethel to check them out.

Best Beer Selection – Bethel Beverage

Maybe we are bias, but Maine beer is the best beer, and Bethel Beverage is chock-full of it. If you are craving that beer you once had in Portland or Vermont, there is a good chance Bethel Beverage will have it on their shelves, and if not, they will show you the next closest thing. Stop in right on Route 2 to feel like a kid in a candy shop to admire their amazing selection.

Best Cocktail Location and Drink – 22 Broad Street Martini

The martinis are where it’s at. At 22 Broad Street they were voted to have the best on the block. Since all of their martinis are so good, it was a mix of different answers for which is the best. But, the top voted martinis are the Pomatini, Espresso and Sidecar. Be sure to head there and treat yourself to one of these delicious drinks.

Best Pizza – Matterhorn Ski Bar

Not only is their après scene great, but so is their pizza. Enjoy a personal pizza, and pick from an array of toppings or choice from some of their signature pies. Made from scratch, these wood fired pizzas go down faster than waxed skis on White Heat.

Get the large and bring a big group to help you devour the tower of goodness. Best part of all, they are slopeside so you don’t even need to take off your ski boots.

Another new and happenin’ place to hit Bethel, Le Mu Eats. This charming blue shanty is perfect for take out or to go eat in the Steam Mill Brewery next door. Serving up awesome international cuisine, their dishes are out of this world and we are happy to have their new home be Bethel.

Best Dessert – 22 Broad Street

Satisfy your sweet tooth with some of 22 Broad Street’s most delicious desserts. From cannolis to tiramisu to the best flourless chocolate cake around, no matter what you order it will simply melt in your mouth with pure goodness.

Best Gluten-free Options – Tripp’s Farmhouse Cafe

Changing the game of gluten-free, Tripp’s Farmhouse Cafe makes gluten-free food so good, you don’t even know it’s gluten-free. With a location in Auburn, Tripp’s started a food truck to spread the goodness of gluten-free. Parked in Bethel, this mighty food truck is full of gluten-free goodies.

Best Vegetarian Options – DiCocoa’s Bakery & Cafe

Between the Cafe and the Gentle Dining at DiCocoa’s there are lots of vegetarian options. The cafe has lots of yummy baked goods and take home meals and treats. Plus, on Saturdays, DiCocoa’s hosts Gentle Dining next door, where they serve themed meals from around the world which are all vegetarian.

Best Cheap Eats – Kowloon Village

Looking to eat a lot of good food but don’t want to pay the price? Well Kowloon has you covered. At Kowloon they serve up delicious Chinese food, with lots of combo options for a really affordable price. Order a lot and share with friends to try it all. They never fail to fulfill the Chinese food craving. Find them right next to Butcher Burger in downtown Bethel.

 

Honorable mentions:

The Gem: Before you watch a movie at the Gem Movie Theater, make sure you order a pizza first. These homemade pies hit the spot.

Brian’s: The results were close for best cocktail, so don’t forget to check out Brian’s too. Their cocktails are also very tasty, especially the specials.

Cho Sun: For good international food and sushi, check out Cho Sun in Bethel. They have great Korean and Japanese dishes.

Coffee Hound: Another great spot for a good cup of coffee is Coffee Hound. You can find them in South Ridge and White Cap Lodge.
